First impressions:

I loved that the design was different to traditional travel cots – as opposed to being long, this is square and not so deep and cumbersome. This could fit in a large suitcase when travelling if need be. It’s quite lightweight at only 6kg. The travel cot comes in a reinforced fabric bag with carry handles. Inside the bag is the travel cot, mattress and instructions. The mattress is about an inch deep and very comfortable. The instructions are simple and easy to follow with wording and some pictures. Very little assembly is required – opening up the bag, opening the travel cot, giving a little shake for the legs to come out and then inserting and securing the mattress.

Review:

I was so happy to be chosen to try the BabyBjorn Travel Cot Easy Go. The travel cot is available in two colours – anthracite (silvery grey) and greige (dark blue). I was sent the anthracite and it’s a lovely colour. The carry bag matches the travel cot perfectly. Inside the bag is the travel cot, which is surrounded and protected by the mattress and the instructions. Set up is so easy, once out of the bag, open the top frame and give it a shake, the legs pop out and into place and insert the mattress – that’s it! The mattress has a hard base and the foam insert is about an inch thick, so very comfortable and supportive for baby. The mattress cover has a nylon feel, it would have been nice to have a fitted sheet supplied to be a bit cosier for baby. The mattress is secured by passing the little red tabs through the bottom of the travel cot and attaching to the legs. The mesh sides are perfect, breathable and easy to see through. My daughters loved being able to see their brother through the mesh. It’s even better that this can easily be zipped off and washed if necessary. The sleeping area is rather large! The sides taper down from the main top frame, creating a larger area. Collapsing the travel cot to pack and go is just as easy: unclip the little red tabs on the mattress, remover it and pop it in the bag. Turn the travel cot over, pull each leg and collapse them diagonally into the middle of the travel cot, fold the frame in half and put it in the bag inside the mattress and you’re ready to go. My friends who saw the travel cot loved it and thought it was great. I would recommend this as it’s so easy and minimal faff. My baby sleeps comfortably in it and is happy to see what’s going on around him through the sides.

• No fitted sheet supplied
• Bit more expensive than other travel cots
