‘All the Ways I Love You’ Book Review
A Heartwarming Exploration of Parenthood
Helen Docherty’s latest book, ‘All the Ways I Love You’, celebrates the positive elements of parenthood. It’s a book that parents can enjoy just as much as their children. It celebrates the connection between a child and their parent, the laughter they share as well as the quiet moments of comfort. She poignantly captures the unique bond between parent and child, and the enduring love.
Daniela Sosa’s beautiful illustrations bring the story to life. They perfectly capture multicultural family life. Each page has been filled with colour and positivity. We think that the illustrations are just beautiful!
The story is written as a poem and is easy to read for parents. Children will soon learn the patterns and join in with the words as they become more familiar with the text. Docherty’s writing style is engaging and relatable. Her voice is warm and conversational, drawing the reader in and making them feel like they are part of each family. She uses vivid imagery and evocative language to bring her experiences to life, making the reader feel as though they are experiencing these moments alongside her.
Although perhaps written with toddlers in mind, this book can be enjoyed at any age. It makes a perfect present for a parent to give their toddler or a perfect Baby Shower gift.
“All the Ways I Love You” is set to remind parents that parenthood is a journey filled with both triumphs and tribulations. It’s a testament to parents and the enduring power of love because sometimes we do need that reminder. This book will undoubtedly resonate with any parent who has ever questioned their abilities, felt overwhelmed, or simply wondered if they are doing it right. It is a book filled with absolute positivity which we love!
Conclusion
“All the Ways I Love You” is a must-read for any parent seeking connection, understanding, and a reminder of some of the positives of parenthood. We gave this toddler book a well deserved 10 out of 10 stars. We really couldn’t fault it and all the adults and children we shared it with loved it!
