What is it and what does it do?
It was reported in the news just last week that we are all at risk of pollution no matter what age we are. A report, commissioned by the Greater London Authority, found exposure to certain particles could lead to miscarriages, cause low sperm count and stunt children’s lung growth. Later in adulthood, it could also cause chronic illnesses, cancer and strokes. These illness include asthma, raised blood pressure, cognitive abilities and mental health.
The ClevaMama HEPA Air Purifier helps to create a cleaner, healthier and safer home for all the family. Designed especially for babies and young children, this air purifier eliminates airborne irritants, ensuring cleaner air in your home, ideal for your baby’s nursery to protect their developing lungs.
It comes equipped with an ozone-free, medical-grade HEPA H13 filter to trap and destroy 99.95% of airborne particles, including bacteria and viruses such as Strep A, pneumonia, and Covid 19*. It can help to eliminate asthma and allergy triggers such as dust, pollen, pet dander, mould, VOC’s, dust mites, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odours, leaving the air in your home clean and fresh. *Filters out viruses with particles as small as 0.3 μm microns.
Looks and design
Visually the Air Purifier is lovely, I love the face on the screen which displays whether your air is good, moderate or not so good. It’s almost like a little person in your home telling you whether they are happy or not, without being super demanding!
Functions
Works from your smart phone
The instructions are fantastic, really clear and straight forward. You can simply plug in and go or you can sync with your smart phone and control from the app. There’s a QR code in the instructions to download the app and then using bluetooth, sync your new little addition to the family to the app.
Display
The on/off button is located on the front. Once you switch it on, the front rotates to show the display and the air purifier then gets to work. The display shows whether the air is good, moderate or poor.
Ease of use
Obviously being able to use it from my phone is a bonus. There are different levels of air speed, changing the air speed and turning it on and off on the actual unit couldn’t be simpler. You simple gently slide the screen up or down to alter the air speed and turn it on or off.

Review
Opening and installation of the app
When I first opened the box I was please to see that there was hardly anything to do to get this air purifier up and running. The HEPA Air Purifier was so easy to get working. You simply remove the base, remove the filter and plugs, remove the packaging from the filter, pop the filter back in, attach the base and plug in!
Once I’d installed the app and synced the air purifier up I loved how it came up with the name Mika. That’s its name now, all the family ask is Mika happy? when it’s switched on. You can also control the air speed and switch Mika on and off from the app.
As a mum, even though my children aren’t really children any more, and a pet owner, I was interested to see exactly how clean the air was in my home. I live in quite a rural area, I have a log burner in my home, (which is getting used daily at the moment in these cold temperatures), but I always presumed the air would be OK!
Using it for the first time
When I first switched it on, Mika had a happy face, but after just a minute or so, it soon looked sad. I’d put it in my office to begin with, one of the dogs, (a rather large long-haired monster I may add) had come to lay with me while I was working. I blamed the dog! I have to say though, it only took a few minutes for Mika to look a little happier then soon it had the happy face displayed.
When the log burner was lit later that day I moved Mika into the living space. It is really lightweight making it easy to move around from room to room. Again, after a minute of being plugged in, Mika’s face went sad. It really did surprise me how quickly it does purify the air and it didn’t take long for the face to change to moderate and then good.
I definitely think that Mika would be a huge benefit for anyone’s home, not just for if you have young children. However, I wish I’d had one when my children were smaller, just to give me peace of mind that I was ensuring that the air that they breathed in was as clean as it possibly could be.
Pros
Gives you clean, purified air in your home to benefit all the family
Peace of mind that you are supporting your children’s and your own health
We spend a long time in our homes, breathing in the purified air will help to prevent longer term illnesses from birth up to adulthood.
Cons
One, tiny little one… the power lead could have done with being just a little longer. But apart from that none at all! Why would there be a con to purifying the air that your family breathes in?!
Would you recommend this product to other parents?
Yes definitely. What’s not to recommend?! Little Mika, cleansing the air that my family breathes in every day when at home, especially with two dogs shaking everywhere and a log burning fire!
