Get active!

July 3, 2017

Nothing shouts Great British Summer time like a bowl of strawberries and a large glass of iced Pimms. Yes, you’ve guessed it, this week is the start of Wimbledon. Keep your fingers crossed for more days of glorious sunshine and take the time this week to get outside and do something active (don’t worry we know tennis isn’t for everyone)!

tenis

Sorry Andy Murray but we bet you started out with something similar to this! It’s Wimbledon week so we had to sneak a tennis racket in somewhere. This My First Tennis Set from Early Learning Centre is only £6 so you really can’t go wrong. The set includes two tennis rackets and two balls, so wait for a nice day and enjoy an afternoon in the sun at your own mini Wimbledon!

running

Fitting in a healthy lifestyle with a baby in tow doesn’t sound too easy which is why you need to include them in part of your get active routine. Out’n’About aim to help mums and dads continue to enjoy an active lifestyle, whilst being able to take the little ones along too and the Nipper Sport definitely delivers that. A fixed front wheel makes sure it’s smooth and stable ride for your child and the handlebar-mounted brake lever is positioned perfectly if you get out of breathe and need a break! It’s been shortlisted in this years Running Pushchair category in the Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards too.

swiming pool

Our favourite way to keep fit with a youngster has to be swimming and best of all babies enjoy it too, so it’s a win win. We have recently shortlisted Huggies Little Swimmers as one of the best swim nappies available in the Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards but it’s not just us who thinks that. Michael Phelps and baby Boomer have partnered with Huggies – who can argue with the world’s greatest swimmer?

beach and swimsuit

If you’re expecting you might find swimming the easiest way to get a little exercise in. It’s a lot easier to find maternity swimwear now with high street brands offering more to pregnant women but our favourite this week is the much loved and trusted JoJo Maman Bebe! This Maternity Tankini is pretty (more importantly comfortable) and easier to get on than a one piece – which you’ll find a great help as the bump gets bigger.

bicycle

If balance bikes are no more and your little one is ready to take to the pedals then you really can’t beat Raleigh. Their bikes are known for being strong, sturdy and built to last years and although the Atom 12 Inch is aimed at youngsters from the age of 3, the bike delivers everything you could want from a first bike. It comes with stabilisers to offer your child confidence in their very first biking adventures. So, what are you waiting for hop on down to the park and get riding!
