First Impressions

The Giles & Posner Ice Cream Maker came in a compact and well-presented box, needing minimal assembly. It’s a nice looking product that we would be happy keeping out on the kitchen work surface. For the cost, we were impressed with the finish of the ice-cream maker.

Using the Ice Cream Maker

We used the ice cream maker a number of times before writing the review. Unfortunately the first time we used the ice cream maker, we noticed that the lid and churner were overheating. This prompted us to unplug the machine and reach out to Posner. We know that occasionally things go wrong with a product, but the customer service was very good and we had no issues with the replacement maker.

It is really easy to start using your ice cream maker, straight out of the box. There is nothing complicated to do before you can get down to the excitement of starting to make your ice cream.

The Giles & Posner Ice cream maker has quite a small capacity so is ideal for making pudding for a couple of children. However, you might want a larger model to feed a hungry family! It’s relatively easy to use but you have to remember to freeze the bowl before starting. If you forget, you could have some frustrated children on your hands.

We were a little disappointed that the Ice Cream Maker did not come with any recipes, but a quick online search meant that we were ready to go in no time at all! If you would like to see the recipe which we used, you can find here. We had lovely, healthy (ish) ice cream within 40 minutes which was perfect!

The Giles & Posner Ice Cream Maker is an ideal gift for children. It’s affordable and although not as well made as some other models, our experience tells us that ice cream makers are seasonal and may spend most of the year at the back of the cupboard. With this in mind and for the price, we would recommend it for occasional use!
