Review : Judge Electricals Sandwich, Grill and Waffle Maker

My name is Jo, and I am part of the in-house Parenting Expert review team. I was sent the Judge Electricals Sandwich, Grill and Waffle Maker to use and review, which caused great excitement in our house. I have three children, including two pretty independent teenagers, so the ability for them to make their own lunches at times is a real bonus. We started testing this during the school holidays, and anyone with teenagers will know just how much they eat when they are not at school! This was a Godsend, and the timing could not have been better.

First Impressions

The Judge Electricals Sandwich, Grill and Waffle Maker looks from the outside to be like any other sandwich toaster, but once you unpack it, you can see that it is also a grill and waffle maker. My teenage boys were excited to get started, as you can imagine.

The Review

This was very simple to use, and although it does come with instructions, they really were not necessary. We all got started right away. I liked the fact that you were getting three machines in one – it makes the product good value for money and saves space in the cupboard. I have to admit, though, that we primarily used this as a sandwich toaster most of the time.

Sandwich Toaster

This worked really well and made the most delicious sandwiches. We made everything from traditional cheese and onion toasties to banana and nutella toasties – delicious if you haven’t tried these already. The sandwiches all came out evenly toasted, and we have had few leaks! The toastie plates were easy to clean.

Waffle Maker

Again, no complaints from the kids – easy to use and easy to clean. I did think they might stick, but they came out perfectly. We used this to make waffles a few times, and they always went down well. My favourite was Greek yogurt with strawberries, but of course the children preferred banana and Nutella waffles!

Grill

I used this a couple of times, but in all honesty, I don’t think that we will use this function much. It’s not that it didn’t work, it’s just that the other two functions on this will suit our lifestyle better. However, it did what it needed to do with ease and was simple to keep clean.

My only niggle with this product was the catch to keep it closed, which seemed a little flimsy. – apart from that, it was great.

I would definitely recommend this to other parents – the fact that it is three products in one gets a big thumbs up from me! My teenagers loved it, and it encouraged them to make their own lunch, which is a bonus in my eyes!
