Photobox My First Photo Book Review

September 28, 2018

Mumii VIP Hannah had the chance to create her own personalised photo board book with Photobox

What did you receive to review:

A board book for baby with space for 16 personal photos and captions

Review team:

Hannah, Daniel, 5-year-old Michael and 6-month-old Aidan

First impressions:

The first thing I had to do was go to the Photobox website to create the My First Photo Book, which was incredibly simple. You can upload photos straight to the website from a computer or your mobile phone and the website will either smartfill and upload your photos automatically into the book or you can manually do it. There are options to change the layout, text and colour of the book. I chose to keep it nice and simple and created the book all white with black font. The instructions were very clear to understand and I found the process really straightforward to complete, which is vital when you have a demanding baby. I also loved how customised the photo book could be for your child.

Review:

The photo book arrived and I quickly fell in love with it. The images were fantastic quality and everything was exactly how I created it. At 13.7×13.7cm, it is the perfect size for my son Aidan to hold and look at. Importantly, it is also sturdy with thick pages to minimise the damage babies can create with books. My oldest son Michael also enjoyed showing his baby brother the pictures and reading the captions. The corners are rounded for safety, too – I think it’s fantastic the company has really thought of how to make the product perfectly suited to babies and toddlers. I would really recommend this for other parents. It’s the perfect size to be kept in a changing bag, and Aidan spent some time looking at it while we were in a restaurant. I also think it’s a really sweet baby gift. To have a board book they can have with all family photos would be great for a christening, Christmas or first birthday. We have had quite a few questions about it and some parents have been surprised it’s £14.95 – my aunt said she would actually pay a little more so it is good value for a personalised photo book.

PROS:
  • Aimed well at babies – it is a good size, sturdy and the images are clear to look at.
  • Can be completely personalised – you can choose the colour of the book, the photos and the captions
  • Easy and quick to create with a demanding baby
