First Impressions
When I first opened the box I was surprised how big it was but then I’ve never had an air fryer before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. There was no assembly needed of anything so it was straight out of the box and ready to use.
Review
It’s quite a bulky unit so not something you’d want to keep out on your kitchen worktop all the time but anything which saves money on electricity these days is a bonus in my book!
Looks and design
It is stainless steel and very sleek looking. The visual display on the front is very straight forward and the touch screen function makes it easy to use.
Functions
The easy to use touch screen made using the air fryer easy. You can choose your required temperature which ranges from 80 to 200°C. Air fryers are renowned for making food like chips and fried chicken more healthy by minimising the use of fats required but no loss on taste. One of my family favourites is parmentier potatoes which took only a quick spritz of oil to make them super crispy.
The instructions recommended to turn the food half way through cooking, which I did, this gives you an all-round cook on the food. Chicken was easy to cook in there too and took a lot less time than in the oven which saves loads on heating your oven to temperature and then cooking time. ££’s in your bank instead of your utilities company’s bank!
The basket capacity is 5.5 litre allowing you to can cook plenty of food at once, however I am vegetarian so it made it tricky to cook something for me at the same time as there is only one drawer and no divider. The drawer lifts out easily to check/turn food and the air fryer automatically shuts off when you lift the basket out.
The non-stick liner works well, the food just lifted out and there were no huge pans/trays to wash up afterwards. The basket is easy to clean, just a quick squeeze of washing up liquid, a wipe and a rinse! Simple!
The adjustable thermostat gives rapid air circulation to cook food precisely. The temperature is adjustable from 80°C to 200°C. This gives you the option to cook various foods in various ways. The timer has a time of up to 60 minutes.
Safety
With a cool to the touch handle, automatic overheating protection and auto shut-off once the timer has ended, this air fryer is safe and means you are not constantly stuck in the kitchen watching pans or grills etc.
Pros
- Saves money on your electricity bill! Big bonus!
- Large 5.5L basket to cook for all the family
- Easy to use touch screen display
- Auto shut-off so you don’t over cook your food
- Good value for money at only £89.99
Cons
- It had a little wobble at one point where the timer kept going up (without me pressing anything) but I just shut it off and started again, it was fine after that
- There are two small rubber bungs in the cooking basket (not sure what they are for) which come out easily, so be careful they don’t end up on someones plate! They also made it hard to flip food with a spatular
- As a vegetarian I could only cook either meat or vegetables at one time in the one basket
Would you recommend this product to other parents?
Yes, I would recommend this to other parents. The food tasted great using less oil and food is cooked in less time saving money on electricity!
