We have been testing some of the best products on the market recently, and here are our recommendations.
Alterna My Hair My Canvas – Texture and Curls
This is a new range from Alterna, a haircare brand that we love at Parenting Expert.
Alterna My Hair My Canvas is haircare range that is designed for people with curly hair. Its clean, vegan-friendly, and silicone-free formulas provide gentle yet effective nourishment, leaving hair feeling soft, manageable, and radiant. Our tester has long curly hair and has tried many products previously to try and tame her unruly locks. She used the Alterna range for 4 weeks and reported back that she won’t need to try any other products as she loves these so much. She told us that her hair has never felt softer and that she has had lots of comments about her hair recently which she can only put down to using My Hair My Canvas range.
Original Sprout Miracle Detangler
The Original Spout Miracle Detangler was tested by a teenager with tight, curly hair. She really struggles with tangles, especially as she is a keen swimmer and gymnast. It had been a daily battle to get a brush through her hair so the family was really hoping for a ‘miracle’! Having used the product for a few weeks, our tester reported back that it really was a miracle and worked far better than they had anticipated. It left her hair soft and tangle-free, and it also prevented the daily hair-brushing battles!
John Frieda Frizz Ease Shampoo and Conditioner
John Frieda produces a range designed specifically for people with curly hair. It’s a cost-effective option and is easily available in most supermarkets. After a couple of weeks of testing, our reviewer told us that she won’t be going back to her usual shampoo and conditioner. The John Frieda Frizz Ease shampoo and conditioner left her hair soft and shiny. She also found it easier to get her comb through her curls after her shower.
The Afro Hair & Skin Co – Nurture Shampoo Bar
Shampoo bars are becoming more and more popular and we loved testing this one from The Afro Hair & Skin Co. The ingredients in the Nurture Shampoo Bar have been carefully selected for black or mixed-heritage hair. Our tester reported that it was easy to use. She told us that she was surprised by the difference it made to her hair in just a couple of weeks. She reported that her hair felt in much better condition than it had for a very long time.
Discovering the right products for your curly hair can be a journey of exploration and experimentation. While there is no one-size-fits-all solution, we hope that we can guide you towards products that will work best for your unique hair.
