Tried and Tested : The Ultimate Guide to All-Terrain Pushchairs 2024

August 22, 2024

With Autumn quickly approaching and the knowledge that the UK does not have the best weather for at least 10 months of the year, more and more parents are considering an all-terrain pushchair for their everyday use.

Historically all-terrain pushchairs were big, bulky and heavy. However, this is no longer the case. Modern-day manufacturing means they are lighter, full of functions, and will work as well in the city as they do in the countryside.

We took a look at the best of the best to see which all-terrain pushchairs would get our stamp of approval. We appreciate that everyone has different budgets, requirements and style preferences. But we think we have tested enough all-terrain pushchairs over the years to be able to make some sound suggestions.

Best Double All-Terrain – Out’n’About Nipper V5 Double

The Nipper Double has been about for years and has always been a firm favourite but it did need updating! The NEW Nipper V5 took the Nipper to the next level and is a great pushchair for those wanting to explore more off the beaten track.

Best Budget All-Terrain – hauck Runner 3

The Hauck Runner 3 came out top in our search for an all-terrain pushchair for those on a budget. It’s stylish and has some great features for the money. We have always been impressed with the Runner for it’s value for money – however the new version also offers more style and a far more robust feel to it. Read our full review here.

Best Compact All-Terrain – Mountain Buggy Swift

Mountain Buggy have a substantial family of all-terrain pushchairs. The little brother of that family is the Swift. It’s not as big and beefy as it’s counterparts BUT it will fit in the boot of your car if you are not lucky enough to be driving around in a 4×4. It’s a great compromise if space is limited.

Best All-Terrain From Birth – iCandy Peach 7 All-Terrain

There is something that just oozes sophistications with the iCandy Peach All-Terrain – even if it is covered in mud! We love that you can use this is 3 or 4 wheel mode. Personally for rougher terrain we preferred the 3-wheel mode. The option to have a carrycot on the iCandy really does make this a great from-birth option…and of course you can make this a tandem should another sibling come along! Read our review here.

Most Stylish All-Terrain – Thule Urban Glide 3

Thule have been producing all-terrain pushchairs for some years now. The new Thule Urban Glide 3 not only performs incredibly well over rough terrain, but it looks great too! We know looks aren’t everything but no-one wants to push an ugly pushchair around!
