Nutramigen Formula Recall : What Parents Need to Know
Attention parents! Two batches of Nutramigen hypoallergenic formula powders for babies have been recalled in the UK due to the potential presence of Cronobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that can cause serious illness.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Affected products: Nutramigen LGG Stage 1 and Stage 2 Hypoallergenic Formula powders (400g).
- Batch codes: ZL3F7D (Stage 1), ZL3FAA or ZL3FDM (Stage 2).
- Best before date: 1 July 2025.
- Reason for recall: Possible presence of Cronobacter sakazakii, which can cause fever, diarrhoea, and in severe cases, sepsis or meningitis in infants.
- Risk to your baby: The UKHSA states no illnesses have been linked to these formulas, but precaution is crucial.
What to do:
- Immediately check your baby’s formula. If you have any of the affected batches, do not feed them to your baby.
- Return the unused formula to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement.
- Consult your doctor or healthcare professional for guidance. They can advise on alternative feeding options if needed.

- Symptoms of Cronobacter infection in infants: Poor feeding, irritability, temperature changes, jaundice, abnormal breaths and movements.
- Other Nutramigen products and batches are not affected by this recall.
